Volunteer

If you're over 18, you can volunteer for the shelter daily activities with the animals. If a minor, please keep an eye out on our social media for other volunteer opportunities .

We always welcome donations of dog food. In addition we also need durable chew toys of all kinds to keep the dogs occupied. Our cats welcome donations of cat food, cat toys and clay (non-clumping) litter. We can use towels and blankets, but please no sheets, pillows or comfortersAny donations can be dropped off at the shelter during regular business hours.

We at TAG continually work with our dogs, so be sure to read the updates and check the progress made by the dogs. We would like to think they wouldn't be around long enough for an update but that's not always the case. We continue to try our best to make sure we get a proper home for the dogs and any other impounded animals.

Volunteers help by walking and socializing the dogs, fundraising, etc. We also create flyers and posters to keep members and the public informed of our activities and take pictures of the animals available for adoption and post these pictures here, on Petfinder.org, Facebook, Instagram and the Trumbull Times. Often, animals admitted to the shelter require non-emergency medical care. Funds raised through membership dues, contributions and fundraising events pay for necessary immunizations, spaying and neutering, and non-emergency illness and injuries.

TAG has also purchased supplies and equipment for the shelter to improve care of the animals. Through the combined efforts of TAG and the Trumbull Animal Shelter staff, our four legged friends are well cared for while waiting for a permanent home.
